Boone County Jail Roster
The Boone County Sheriff's Office, led by Sheriff Tony Harris, routes public inmate lookup traffic through the official Corrections inmate lookup page and the linked Boone County JailTracker public roster. JailTracker is the local roster for people booked at Boone County Jail. It covers active jail custody and, based on the roster settings inspected in 2026, also supports released-record searching. The roster is public and free. The agency settings showed no public login path, images enabled, active and released filters, and the Boone County Sheriff Office as the listed agency.
The county roster is not the right tool for every custody question. A person who has been sentenced to Indiana Department of Correction custody belongs in the IDOC offender locator, not the Boone County jail list. A sentenced federal prisoner is searched through the BOP inmate locator. Immigration custody uses the ICE Online Detainee Locator System. A Boone County booking record can be a strong starting point, but it is not a full court file, not a certified jail record, and not proof that the person remains in the same facility after transfer.
The roster screenshot in the manifest comes from the same public portal Boone County uses for inmate search.
The Boone County JailTracker roster shows the search interface used for name, intake, release, and status filters.
The roster image is useful because Boone County's public fields are more specific than a simple name list.
Use Boone County JailTracker
Start with a broad search, then narrow. JailTracker accepts several optional fields, so a partial name may work when spelling is uncertain. Last name is the most useful first filter. Add first name, middle name, gender, intake date, or offender ID only after the first pass. The Type control matters because the app defaults to active custody on load. For an older Boone County inmate record, use Released or All and then compare the release date field with any court or records-request need.
- Open the sheriff's inmate lookup page or go directly to the Boone County JailTracker roster.
- Enter the last name first. Add first name or middle name only when the result set is too broad.
- Use Type = Active for current Boone County Jail custody. Use Released or All for older jail bookings.
- Open the detail view and record the name, intake date, offender ID, permanent ID, case number if shown, and charge entries.
- Use Export PDF or Print for a copy of the public roster view. Use Boone County Sheriff's Office NextRequest when an official copy is needed.
Boone County Roster Fields
Boone County JailTracker is more flexible than many county jail rosters because it has name, date, status, agency, and ID fields. None of the searched fields are marked as required in the public interface. That helps when the reader has only a partial name, but it also means common names can return many rows. The active list can be searched by current custody first, while released records require the Type filter or a release date range.

Boone County Inmate Profile
A public Boone County inmate profile can include a booking photo, name fields, agency identifiers, status, intake and release dates, offense tables, case number clues, and physical-description fields. The public API sample inspected in 2026 also showed several sensitive identity fields as null or redacted, including birth date, Social Security number, driver's license number, and state ID. Bond amount, housing unit, arresting officer, magistrate, and court date were not observed in the sample active records, so those items should be checked through the jail, court, or MyCase when needed.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Booking photo / hasImage | Whether a public mugshot is available. The app may also show Image not available. |
| Name | First, middle, last, and suffix tied to the roster record. |
| Offender Id | Boone County JailTracker's agency offender identifier. |
| Permanent Id | A longer-term person identifier used by the roster system. |
| Intake Date | The booking or intake date and time stored by JailTracker. |
| Release Date | Release date when available, or blank/null for active custody. |
| Supervision Status | Active or released roster status. |
| CriminalOffenses | Offense, arrest code, statute, charge description, status, case number, and control number when populated. |
| AdditionalInfo | Age, race, height, weight, hair color, eye color, and scheduled release date fields. |
Note: A roster charge is an allegation or booking entry. The formal Boone County court record controls filed charges, hearings, and disposition.
Boone County Access Channels
Use the access channel that matches the custody stage. Boone County JailTracker covers the county jail. The sheriff phone line is the fallback for current custody questions, especially when a person was just arrested, released, or transferred. The sheriff's corrections pages list office hours for in-person correctional business, while the main phone is answered around the clock. NextRequest is the formal public-records route for booking records, incident reports, mugshot copies, and sheriff records not posted online.
| Question | Best Boone County Channel | Why It Matters |

| Current local jail custody | JailTracker, then 765-482-1412 option 1 | Boone County Jail handles local arrestees and short local custody. |
| Official sheriff copy | NextRequest | Roster printouts are informational, not certified records. |
| In-person records question | Corrections office, Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-4 p.m. | Confirm release rules before visiting the jail lobby. |
| Sentenced state prison | IDOC offender locator | State prison custody is outside the Boone County roster. |
| Release alerts | Indiana SAVIN or Indiana VINE | These services provide custody-status and notification tools. |
| Federal or immigration custody | BOP or ICE locator | Federal and immigration systems are separate from county jail records. |
| Public safety app | Boone County Sheriff iOS app or Google Play app | The app supports tips, reporting, news, and public safety features, but no app-only inmate roster was confirmed. |
Boone County Jail Facilities
Boone County's local detention map has two custody-related facilities at the Lebanon public-safety campus. The Boone County Jail is the primary booking and jail-roster facility for new arrestees, pretrial detainees, and local sentenced inmates. The Boone County Residential Facility is a Community Corrections work-release facility, not the same as the current-arrestee jail roster. A person in work release may have a court case and program contact, but the jail roster may not describe the full community-corrections status.

Boone County Booking Records
A Boone County arrest usually moves from law enforcement transport to the Boone County Jail, then intake, identity recording, property inventory, charge or warrant entry, medical screening, and roster creation. The public roster fields show what JailTracker publishes, not every internal jail field. Medical care and medication issues are handled through jail medical staff, not through the roster. The sheriff's corrections material says inmates are asked medical questions at arrival and are screened soon after. Sick call is available, and medication drop-off requires a jail medical appointment.
Roster timing should be described with care. The research found active data with same-day created and updated timestamps, but the sheriff does not publish a fixed refresh interval. The safe rule is to search the roster, then call Boone County Corrections if the arrest is very recent or if transport from another county may be pending. Boone County's FAQ also says transport timing is not disclosed for safety when a person is held elsewhere on Boone County charges.
Boone County Visitation Rules
Boone County Jail visitation is handled through ICSolutions video visitation. The sheriff's visitation page states that family, friends, and professionals can schedule visits from a home or office computer, and that registration is mandatory. During the inspected research period, the sheriff page said construction conditions gave each inmate three free home visits, with additional off-site visits costing $12.50 for 25 minutes. Because construction terms can change, check the current sheriff page before paying or scheduling.
| Item | Boone County Detail | Practical Use |
|---|---|---|
| Provider | ICSolutions | Register and schedule video visits. |
| Registration | Mandatory | Create or log into a prepaid account before the visit. |
| Scheduling | Select facility, inmate, location, date, and time | Read and agree to jail rules before confirming. |
| Free home visits | Three per inmate during construction, as stated during research | Verify the current rule before relying on free sessions. |
| Paid off-site visit | $12.50 for 25 minutes | Funds must be in the prepaid account. |
| Visitors under 18 | Must be with parent or legal guardian | The adult must stay with the child. |
| ID and conduct | ID may be required; visits are monitored and recorded | Do not discuss confidential legal strategy on ordinary visits. |
The Boone County visitation page is the source for the video visit workflow and conduct rules.
The visit page matters because it gives Boone-specific scheduling steps instead of a generic jail visiting calendar.
Boone County Mail and Funds
Mail to a Boone County inmate must use the inmate's full name, including middle initial, care of Boone County Jail at 1905 Indianapolis Ave, Lebanon, IN 46052. The sender must include a full return name and address. Boone County accepts regular letters written in black or blue pen only. Greeting cards are not accepted. Incoming mail is opened and inspected, while legal mail sent directly from an attorney is opened in the inmate's presence. Softcover books must come from a publisher or online bookstore. Magazines and hard media such as CDs, DVDs, and tapes are not accepted under the posted rules.
Money can be sent by money order payable to the inmate, deposited through the courthouse kiosk, or placed online through AccessCorrections. The sheriff's page says the courthouse kiosk is in the Boone County Courthouse Rotunda during weekday business hours, accepts cash and credit cards, and charges a $4 transaction fee. GettingOut is linked for secure messages and photos. Keefe commissary orders are sent Tuesdays and arrive Wednesdays. Inmates must check orders before signing the packing slip.
Note: Confirm current custody with Boone County Jail before sending funds, scheduling visits, or mailing items to a person who may have transferred.
County Roster Versus IDOC
The difference between jail and prison is the most common Boone County inmate records mistake. Boone County JailTracker is for local jail custody, local bookings, and recent jail release records. IDOC is the statewide prison system for people sentenced to state custody. SAVIN and VINE are notification and custody-status tools. BOP and ICE handle separate federal and immigration systems. If a Boone County case ends in a prison sentence, the person may leave the local roster path and appear in IDOC after transfer and classification.
County, state, and federal records are separate: Use Boone County JailTracker for pretrial and local jail records, IDOC for sentenced state prisoners, BOP for federal sentenced custody, and ICE ODLS for immigration detention. A county hold entry does not prove current federal or ICE custody after transfer.
